Mr Brooks Croydon Council

“I have been made aware of your emails addressed to Cllr Gatland, Cllr Perry, Cllr Neal and Cllr Fisher which has been passed on to me to respond to.

Officers in the Council’s ASB team and the local police have been looking into your complaints on and off for a number of months. I am informed that the local Croham police safer neighbourhood team arranged an open meeting on 20 September 2012. All the residents on Newark Road were invited to attend and were allowed to book appointment slots in order to have their say in private.

We were informed that only two people attended. I understand that you did not attend this open meeting even though the Council, police and London & Quadrant HA were on hand to answer any questions you had. I have also been informed that you have been invited to one to one meeting’s with the Council/police/L & Q but you did not accept any of these invitations.”

 Comment:

The 2 street briefings were to be held at the top of the road where residents would have been in plain view. One was on a weekday the other was a Saturday morning in the pouring rain! ...myself and our immediate neighbours, who are also victims and more importantly unafraid attended.

Subject to this critisism another leaflet was delivered regarding an open meeting which again was simply a diversion.

The Police prior to any of this had conducted a door to door survey and were swamped with complaints with one resident reporting that when he retold the incident with his daughter (already reported)  the officer said "don't tell me No ** "

With this back ground and the fact that all these complaints and incidents are on Police file anyway the deception is clear.

Personaly I have met wth the Police corresponded endlessly with them and with the Housing Association, their respective failure to address the issues and offer  reasoned argument has therefore led to the involvement of the IPCC and the creation of this site.
